Coleophora: Combines the Greek words koleos, meaning “sheath” and phora meaning “bearer or carrier.”

tiliaefoliella: Combines Tilia, the floral host plant for this speces, foli, the Latin word meaning for “leaf”, and the Latin suffix ella for “small.”
