Lapara: The Greek lapara means “flank” or “loin.”

Overview

Lapara is a small genus of just four moths within the tribe Sphingini. All species of Lapara can be found in North America, but two species, L. hailcarnie and L. phaeobrachycerous are restricted to the panhandle region of the United States.
